Principal's Message
Welcome to Baywood Elementary! We are an amazing school with over 300 students from Pre-Kindergarten through Fifth Grade serving the families of our coastal communities in Los Osos and Morro Bay. We believe in honoring and celebrating all cultures and backgrounds while working to ensure each child meets their full potential with a commitment to student growth. We provide enriching academic opportunities while teaching the virtues of respect, responsibility, problem solving, kindness, perseverance, and integrity.
We launched our Dual Language Immersion Program in the fall of 2020 with our Kindergarten classes. We are now in our fifth year of implementation and follow the 90/10 model where TK and kindergarteners learn in Spanish 90% of their day and in English 10%. In 1st grade the languages are 80/20, 2nd grade 70/30 and so on until students learn in Spanish and English 50/50 in fourth and fifth grades. We welcome you to come check out our program! Please call our office for more information about our program and enrollment procedures.
Baywood has a long history of an engaged school community. Our PTA and family partnerships are strong and we welcome parents as an important part of their student’s education. We love having volunteers and community support and involvement.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us. We look forward to partnering with you for a great school year!
