Frequently Asked Questions:
Q. What time to the kids need to be at school on Monday, April 6?
A.  Between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m.  We will not wait for latecomers.  They should leave their luggage outside on the sidewalk, go into the library, sit down, be quiet, and stay put.  We'll need to check them in, which is easier if they're not milling around, and we'll need to think, which is easier if they're quiet.
Please do not wait to give medications and medication forms to the teachers that morning.  That should all be taken care of the week prior to the trip.

Q. What does my child need for the first day?
A. Besides the things in your child's luggage, he or she must have a sack lunch for the first day.  (Make it a big one!)

Q. Can I call my child while he or she is at camp to say hello, or come for a visit?
A. No.  Part of the experience is being independent of parents for 3 days.  If an emergency arises, even if it's minor, we'll call you and let you know, and let you talk to your child if necessary.

Q. Can I write my child a letter while he or she is at camp?
A. Yes.  Usually the best way is to write one in advance and give it to one of the teachers, with something on the outside that says which day you'd like it delivered.  We usually deliver mail at dinner.

Q. Do I need to buy anything special for my child?
A. See the "What to Bring" list.  It's mostly just regular, everday stuff, plus a sleeping bag and pillow.  Note that the kids are required to wear long pants most of the time to avoid poison oak.  A flashlight is recommended, and a book to read at night might help your child go to sleep.

Q. What type of luggage does my child need?
A. Big duffel bags are the best, or the kind of big bags that kids have for putting their soccer stuff in, or their baseball gear.  Suitcases are fine, but please note that they may be treated roughly - set in the dirt, or under big piles of luggage.  Trash bags are not suggested as luggage.  They tend to rip and clothes get strewn everywhere.

If you have any other questions, please contact your child's teacher.
